Although the Muluk trecena is linked with the idea of water and “generative vitality”, there can often be great intensity associated with this energy period, particularly since events can often manifest through the “firewater” aspects of this energy that can be so powerful that they can create new pathways or spark world changing events.
Indeed, Brazil felt the brunt of 1 Muluk’s “initiation of water” force on April 5th when it was subjected to the worst downpour in that region in 30 years. The heavy rains that triggered flooding and major landslides in Rio de Janiero killed over two hundred people in the shantytown region and left thousands homeless. Over the following days some 70,000 packs of emergency supplies had to be delivered to those in need.
In the meantime the tense situation that has been unfolding in Bangkok over the past few weeks led to the declaration of a state of emergency in Thailand under the “activating” influence of 3 Chuwen, after hundreds of “red shirt” protestors stormed the grounds of parliament. Three days later, on 6 Ix (Apr. 9th), the violence in Bangkok dramatically escalated with the intensity of the conflict between the “red shirts” and Thai security forces triggering “the worst political violence” in that country since 1992, resulting in the deaths of 21 people. On that same day Poland’s President Lech Kaczynski, his wife Maria, and 95 others, including many of Poland’s top officials, were killed in a tragic plane crash in western Russia, while en route to observe the 70th anniversary of the dreadful massacre of 20,000 Polish officers by Soviet secret police, after the outbreak of World War II. Seen as the most tragic event in Poland’s post-war era, this horrific crash triggered a massive outpouring of grief as the citizens of that nation attempted to come to terms this enormous loss. The devastating events that took place on that 6 Ix day occurred precisely 32 Mars cycles after the Dec. 8th, 1941 (6 Ix) declarations of war against Japan, and exactly one Mars cycle (780 days) after the 7.5 earthquake that rattled Indonesia’s western province in February of 2008.
