Maya Calendar Energies At Work In The World

The “Activation of Love” – that is the simplest way to translate the 3 Ok energy under which Nelson Mandela came into this world. This is the energy that he carried, the energy that he lived by. Known as a “Burner Day” in Classical Maya daykeeping, 3 Ok is a force that carries a great deal of “fire”, a great deal of heart-based passion and compassion. As noted in the blog of Dec. 3rd, it is also positioned as the third day within this Lamat trecena, which is oriented around Leadership and Renewal. Lamat is the “herald” that signals and brings forth something new. This was Nelson Mandela’s “vehicle” – the “carrier” of his destiny. And today we learn that this is the energy umbrella under which he is returning “home”.

News reports tell us that the great Madiba (as he was known to his tribal group), who was the inspiration for millions worldwide, made his departure from this earthly plane at 8:50 p.m., South African local time on this day. This means that his Maya birth energy was just at the point of coming back into being. Had he lived a few hours longer he would have completed precisely 134 Tzolk’in cycles, or 34,840 days on this earth.

At the time of the announcement President Jacob Zuma noted that that nation “has lost its greatest son. His tireless struggle for freedom earned him the respect of the world. His humility, his compassion and his humanity earned him their love.”

A closer look at Mandela’s birth energy reveals that the “activation” aspect (symbolized by the number three) was repeated in his Maya month – an energy known as 3 Sek, representative of the activation of an energy associated with bees. And one of the symbolic meanings associated with bees is “soul force”. So we could say that this beloved leader was the embodiment not only of the “Activation of Love” but also the “Activation of Soul Force”, one in conjunction with the other.

Over the coming days much will be written about Mandela’s courage, strength, and legacy. There will be mourning and there will also be celebrations of his life – all perfectly in keeping with this “Star” oriented timeframe. Farewell Madiba. You will be greatly missed and long remembered.

Here are three of his best quotes:

“Real leaders must be ready to sacrifice all for the freedom of their people.”

“Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.”

“For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”
