Maya Count Of Days Horoscope

Maya Calendar Energies At Work In The World

Hold onto your hats! With some highly volatile events coming up during this “Storm” related trecena, it will be important to maintain your bearings as we ride this one out!

As the world is aware, there are some potentially explosive events coming up during the next few days, including Trump’s meeting in Singapore with Korean leader Kim Jong-un, on Russia Day, just over one cycle since their infantile verbal sabre-rattling. As this is taking place teams are arriving in Russia in preparation for the opening of the fiercely competitive 21st FIFA World Cup. It is anticipated that early in this trecena criminal charges could be brought against Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal lawyer, related to bank fraud and campaign related crimes, at the same time as his ex-campaign manager is arraigned on witness tampering charges. And, in addition to all that, there are the trade war issues that have recently developed between the U.S. and several other countries, including Canada, and the related fallout from the G7 conference.

And then there are two deadly volcanoes, one in Hawaii that has already destroyed some 600 homes, and one in Guatemala, that are requiring constant vigilance as their various eruptions of lava, ash, and toxic gases continue. In Guatemala a great deal of effort will be put into dealing with the aftermath of the explosive Fuego eruptions, as nearly 200 people are still missing, and some 4000 people are still in shelters after several villages were destroyed by pyroclastic flows over the past few days and volcanic ash now covers wide areas.

During the last appearance of this trecena many parts of the Caribbean and Gulf Coast were dealing with the aftermath of the horrific hurricanes and floods that had hit those regions just beforehand. Indeed, millions of people were left without homes, without livelihoods, without power, without direction, and – for many – without hope. In some cases, such as Barbuda, Dominica, and Puerto Rico, whole nations had been decimated, and many were awaiting outside assistance, which, unfortunately has still not been readily forthcoming.

So now again we have the return of the Kawak trecena, the trecena that brought the likes of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and Supertyphoon Soudelor in 2015; the trecena that ignited the Okanogan fires in Washington state in 2015, which became the largest in that state’s history; the trecena that brought forth the massive Fort McMurray wildfire in 2016 and is currently in place as huge wildfires are rampaging through Colorado; the trecena that brought the last U.S. presidential inauguration on its final day in early 2017.

But despite all this, the nature of the “storm” that characterizes this energy frame is not always monstrous nor is it always weather related. At times it is fueled by passion and compassion, as when the focus turns towards significant causes, as when it triggered the first national integrated civil rights march in the U.S., in the summer of 1963, in the largest civil rights rally in U.S. history.

Hundreds of thousands descended on Washington, D.C.’s Lincoln Memorial during this trecena in 1963, at which time Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech. Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons.

Five cycles ago, in November 2014, massive protest rallies took place throughout the trecena, for many different reasons, in places such as Hong Kong, Mexico City, the U.S., Cairo, and Eastern Canada. Two cycles ago protests seemed to reach unprecedented levels as resistance groups made their objections to the new U.S. president and the GOP agenda known on almost a daily basis, fueled considerably by the conclusion from U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia had conducted a sophisticated influence campaign to “undermine faith in the U.S. democratic process”, bringing into question the legitimacy of the election results.

The mid point of this trecena can be particularly intense, as seen last year when the massive We Shall Not Be Moved march and rally on the grounds of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in Washington D.C., led by the National Action Network and civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton, was held in the frigid, pouring rain just prior to the inauguration.

And certainly those were not the only voices of defiance at that time, as the frenzy of protest and objections to what was unfolding in Washington continued to intensify. During the last appearance of this trecena (last fall) huge anti-Brexit rallies took place in the UK as protestors attempted to stop action on that country’s proposed EU Withdrawal bill. At this current time this trecena will unfurl yet another large demonstration in Washington D.C. at the end of 40 days of protest during the Poor People’s campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival.

The Maya rain deity Chac, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons

Keep in mind that this is a strong water-oriented time frame, a period seen in ancient lore as being under the auspices of Tláloc, the Aztec god of rain (known as Chac to the Maya). Chac was seen as a deity who often announces his presence in dramatic, sometimes highly tempestuous ways. This often manifests as a highly catalytic energy traditionally associated with clouds, lightning, thunder, and heavy rainfall that has the potential to create either a “water blessing” that can purify and transform, or set off some sort of complete disaster. As the catalyzation process triggered by Chac can take many forms, with much of it being water oriented, many significant floods have been triggered during past cycles. But it can also trigger floods of tears, the kinds of tears that accompany unspeakable grief, as happened when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, or when that Mayasian Boeing 777 with 239 people aboard suddenly blipped off the radar six cycles ago, leaving a monumental mystery still unsolved.

Now, as these forces come into play again, there are many questions waiting to be answered. What is going to happen in Singapore as this trecena gets underway? Will the FIFA World Cup in Moscow be friendly or frenzied? What will be the implications for charges being brought against Michael Cohen, Paul Manafort, and others aligned with the U.S. political scandals? Will the volcanoes continue erupting? Will the Summer Solstice bring us warmth and “enlightenment” or will there be some manifestation of the ancient Mesoamerican concept of “burning water” (a mixing of fire with water). Fortunately Chac has been known to be benevolent, as he can trigger the kind of catalyzation that can eventually lead to a cleansing and clearing of the dark forces that have held sway for too long so that rays of light and hope can filter through. Let’s hope that some of that benevolence is brought forth at this time. Here are the energies that will be going through this time frame:

1 Kawak (June 12th) – the “initiation” of a “catalytic storm”, the day of Trump’s meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Singapore. This is also Russia Day, which has been celebrated annually since 1991. During last year’s Russia Day over 1700 people were arrested across Russia in nationwide anti-corruption demonstrations. So will there be a “catalytic storm” this time – in Russia? In Singapore?

2 Ajaw (June 13th) – a dynamic type of energy aligned with the full sun, full power, and the idea of “enlightenment”, coinciding at this time with the New Moon, and with St. Anthony’s Feast Day, a popular Catholic celebration of a saint sometimes known as the Wonder-worker, the patron saint for the recovery of lost things. Also known as the marriage saint, he has been recognized in legends as facilitating reconciliations. Celebrations in his honour will be held in many places worldwide at this time. Maya birth energy of Alvin Toffler, the author of many global bestsellers such as “Future Shock” and “The Third Wave”.

3 Imix (June 14th) – the “activation” of “birth” or the realm of all potential, two terrifying, off-the-charts cycles since President Obama’s farewell address to the nation early last year, on the same day as the chiefs of U.S intelligence agencies presented Obama, the Gang of Eight (Republican and Democratic leaders of Congress and the intelligence committees) and Trump with a two page summary of the “potentially explosive” Steele dossier (that included information on, among other things, the covert meetings related to the hacking of the DNC).

As it happens, yet another report is due to be released on this current 3 Imix day as the U.S. Justice Department’s Inspector General presents his findings on the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton and her email server. The Justice department and the FBI are also scheduled to brief Congressional leaders on the source who met with Trump campaign aides about that same issue.

Currently this day coincides with the opening of the 21st FIFA World Cup, this time in Moscow; with National Flag Day in the U.S., on the 241st anniversary of the adoption of the U.S. flag; and with the start of Honor America Days. The evening coincides with the beginning of Eid al-Fitr (the festival of breaking the fast), marking the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. This would have been the revolutionary Che Gevera’s 90th Gregorian birthday.

4 Ik’ (June 15th) – the “defining” of wind/breath/spirit; an important energy associated with the connection between the sun and Quetzalcoatl, and one of the five energies at the centre of the Aztec Sun Stone.

Maya birth energy of two-time Olympian Nick Catlin, who has written an interesting article on “What it takes to Become an Olympic Athlete”, which provides insight into how this wind/breath/spirit energy in combination with Kawak’s “catalyzation” force has helped him to become an Olympian. As he is also a writer, this also illustrates his connection with the power of communication, which is very much a part of this 4 Ik’ energy.

At this time it has been precisely six cycles since the mysterious disappearance of Malaysian Airlines Flight 370.

This is the deadline day for Michael Cohen’s lawyers to complete their review of the millions of documents seized by the FBI last month and hand them back over to investigators, at which time charges are expected to be brought against him. This is also the day when Paul Manafort, Trump’s ex-campaign manager, will be arraigned on witness tampering charges, with the possibility that his bail will be revoked and he could be sent to jail while awaiting his forthcoming trials.  In the evening, the end of Eid al-Fitr.

5 Ak’b’al (June 16th) – the “pinpointing” of deep esoteric mysteries, at the time of a conjunction between the Moon and Venus. It was under this influence in 2009 that CERN’s Large Hadron Collider accelerated to the highest level ever achieved (up to that point) as part of a test to “unlock the secrets of the origins of the universe”.

6 K’an (June 17th) – a “six directions” type of energy aligned with “youthful vitality”, the energy that turned Katrina into a Tropical Storm (pre-hurricane) in 2005 at the same time as it triggered an extreme solar geomagnetic storm. Coinciding at this time with Father’s Day.

7 Chikchan (June 18th) – a self-generating Liberation/Lifeforce type of energy that was seen traditionally as the daysign of Chicomecóatl, the Aztec Goddess of agriculture (especially maize) which was representative of the more positive aspects of this time frame, with its potential for providing conditions that are favorable for bringing forth nourishment. In 1944 the greatest amphibious assault in history, known as D-Day, took place under this influence, marking the beginning of European liberation. Currently this energy coincides with the China’s traditional Dragon Boat Festival (aka the Duanwu Festival or Double Fifth), the opening of the UN’s 38th session of the Human Rights Council, Paul McCartney’s 76th Gregorian birthday.

8 Kimi (June 19th) – a “resurrection” type of energy associated with “death” or “absolute spiritual foundations” as when Hurricane Katrina was rapidly approaching Louisiana in 2005. Two cycles ago this energy coincided with a nationwide pre-inauguration protest in the U.S., dubbed a Day of Resistance, at which time Sen. Bernie Sanders and his allies led a nationwide rally against the Republicans’ new agenda. Maya birth energy of both Stephen Colbert and America Ferrara, both high profile critics of the current administration.

One cycle since former Canadian astronaut Julie Payette became Canada’s new Governor General. Currently this coincides with Juneteenth, known as African American Emancipation Day, and the opening of the Royal Ascot in the UK.

9 Manik’ (June 20th) – an “outwardly projecting” type of energy associated with reciprocity, an important Maya calendar anniversary of the day when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his “I Have a Dream” speech at the first national integrated civil rights march in the U.S. during the summer of 1963, the largest civil rights rally in U.S. history. In 1983 Prince recorded Purple Rain live under the same energy influence. Currently this coincides with the U.N.’s World Refugee Day and National American Eagle Day in the U.S.. Three cycles since the start of the Fort McMurray wildfire.

10 Lamat (June 21st ) “foundational bright star” – a foundational “signalling” type of energy, coinciding at this time with Summer Solstice, with National Aboriginal Day in
Canada; and with the International Day of Yoga. The New Fire birth energy of Anton Nossik (one of the godfathers of the Russian internet, who died on One Imix last July). This was the energy in place when the 1918 Representation of the People Act came into effect that extended the vote to 8.4 million women in the UK over the age of 30.

11 Muluk (June 22nd) – the “change” in conjunction with “water” energy that has accompanied many very intense water related events, such as Hurricane Katrina in 2005. During the last appearance of this energy Hurricane Nate reached hurricane strength in the Gulf of Mexico, before making landfall near the Mississippi delta two days later. Currently this energy coincides with the start of Toronto’s Pride Festival and the start of the Swamp Magic Fest in New Orleans, part of its Tricentennial as it celebrates 300 years of magic.

12 Ok (June 23rd) – a “grouping together” energy associated with love, warmth, and guidance – and sometimes even fire, at the time of a conjunction between the Moon and Jupiter, At this time there will be a large demonstration in Washington D.C. at the end of 40 days of protest during the Poor People’s campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival, which is dedicated to eliminating poverty.

13 Chuwen (June 24th) – “transformational monkey” or “transformational play”, an intense and highly creative “time weaving” type of energy, sometimes referred to as “Thirteen Threads”; a powerfully innovative type of force traditionally aligned with play, creativity, “time-weaving”, and even intense “trickery”, the kind of energy that can sometimes “trick” one into thinking differently or trying out new possibilities, as was in place, amusingly (or not), at the time of the swearing in of the 45th U.S. president two cycles ago. At that time a major “Festival of Resistance: March Against Trump” took place in Washington, DC as some 60 protest groups marched in solidarity to reject racism, sexism, and all forms of oppression. As violent clashes with police broke out and more than 200 were arrested, many viewed it as “one of the darkest days in the history of the U.S.”.  The “trickery” associated with this day now stands as one of history’s “national jokes” as the perceived number of people who attended the inauguration (as interpreted by the president-elect) stands in stark contrast to the visual evidence of the sparse crowds.

Currently this is International Fairy Day at the time of Toronto’s 38th Pride Parade, as well as Inti Raymi in Peru, the Festival of the Sun, Cusco’s biggest festival. In addition this is the 50th anniversary of the day when Resurrection City, an encampment set up on the Washington Mall by the original Poor People’s Campaign as part of a human rights rally in aid of the poor, was closed by police. It is also the day of Turkey’s presidential election, the day when Saudi Arabia is due to lift the driving ban for women, and the opening day for the Global Conference on Global Warming in Izmir, Turkey.
