Maya Count Of Days Horoscope

Maya Calendar Energies At Work In The World

After another round of startling events brought forth by the Ix trecena, we now come to the Manik’ trecena, with its emphasis on Sacrifice and Reconcilation. Symbolized by a Deer or Stag, a powerful but gentle and adaptable creature, this 13-day time frame often centers around interactions between two “forces” that will need to negotiate in various ways in a struggle between opposing ideas, or in a struggle to reach agreement over ideologies or courses of action. At this time a considerable amount of “give-and-take” is often required in order to gain some sense of equilibrium.

Deer was seen as one of the “carriers” of the sun within Maya cosmology.

Two cycles ago, in late November of 2016, this was the trecena in place when people were frantically attempting to sort out how to move forward after the US election, as hundreds of thousands of people were still engaged in protest demonstrations, with many demanding vote recounts. In the White House there were multitudes of high level firings and resignations during this period (with much of that still going on).

One cycle ago (last summer) this trecena brought forth major “head butting” between Trump and Kim Jong-un, as a stringent set of sanctions were imposed against North Korea over its missile program, which kicked off a blustery “nuclear brinksmanship” exchange of threats between the two of them. And if that wasn’t bad enough, violent, unfathomable, racist/anti-racist clashes broke out in Charlottesville, VA that brought forth the declaration of a state of emergency before order could be regained. With high stakes and/or opposing ideologies involved these energies, unfortunately, have a higher likelihood of manifesting in “head butting” (or worse) rather than negotiation.

One cycle ago in Washington D.C. a grand jury was assembled during this trecena to review evidence being brought forward by Robert Mueller’s investigative team relating to Russia’s meddling in the U.S. election and the Trump-Russia connections. This has precipitated the acquisition of tons of evidence and many criminal indictments, with much more “in the works” in this regard. At this time the separate investigations associated with Trump lawyer Michael Cohen appear to be triggering a whole new line of consequential evidence, so this trecena is sure to bring to light many new developments on these fronts, particularly since the Democrats have just filed a major lawsuit against the Trump campaign, members of his inner circle, Russian operatives, and Wikileaks over what was termed acts of “unprecedented treachery” during the 2016 campaign.

Tensions over this issue have heated up considerably since that time.

In Canada one of the most prominent issues at this time is the debate over the polarizing issue of the Kinder Morgan pipeline. A verbal war between B.C. and Alberta has been raging over Alberta’s threat to cut off oil to B.C., and tensions are high as hard choices and tough decisions have to be made in this regard. Undoubtedly a great deal of negotiation over this situation will take place at this time.

Overall, regardless of how high the stakes may be, if handled skillfully there is within this energy frame strong potential for accomplishment and forward movement. A classic example of this can be seen in the Cuban missile crisis of 1962. At that time the final day of this trecena brought the highest level of warning regarding the nuclear threat from the Soviets, as Soviet submarines in the mid-Atlantic were making their way to Cuba. It was a “game-changing” moment for President John F. Kennedy as this crisis was averted. In 1989 this was the trecena that brought forth the dismantling of the Berlin Wall, and in 1991 it brought the end of the Soviet Union as all official Soviet operations ceased after the Soviet Union was declared dissolved.

Within this energy frame there are a number of days that are often particularly consequential, with the first being Three Muluk, which was in place at the time of the death of Princess Diana in 1997,  in place at the time of the first inauguration of Hugo Chávez (Venezulela) in 1999, and in place at the time of the first inauguration of President Obama in 2009. This “Activation of Water” force also coincided with the horrendous earthquake and tsunami in Japan in 2011.

Although, in the past, the fiery “burner” day known as Four Ok has often been in place as massive wildfires have been burning, it doesn’t necessarily mean that this energy will manifest as “fire”, as it can also be associated with heart-centered “warmth”. With Queen Elizabeth’s 92nd birthday kicking off the beginning of the trecena, and the Duchess of Cambridge’s third baby due a couple of days thereafter, it is likely that “royal celebrations” in the UK will take place during much of the trecena, particularly with the lead-up to another royal wedding. In this case, this trecena will provide a pleasant turn-around, as 21 years ago it was this very same trecena that saw the death and burial of Princess Diana.

In keeping with the “Deer” oriented energy that pushes through this energy frame, we have Earth Day coming in on the second day, involving many significant “Save the Earth” events, and “Santo Mundo”, a very special Maya day for honouring Mother Earth coming in on the eighth day. The final day of this trecena (13 Kawak) can often be quite intense, as it was in 1964 when it brought forth the 9.2 magnitude earthquake that struck Alaska.

As always, it is never possible to predict the exact nature of the “Sacrifice and Reconcilation” that may unfold during these 13 days. However, this has often proven to be a time of “testing” that can require people to deal with important issues, working towards the goal of regaining some sense of equilibrium. While a certain amount of negotiation and some give-and-take adjustments may be required there can be strength in that and possibly unexpectedly positive outcomes. As this plays out, these are the energies that will come into play:

1 Manik’ (April 21st) – the “initiation of reciprocity”, symbolized by the Moon Goddess working with the Deer/Stag, the “carrier” of the sun on Earth, this time coinciding with Queen Elizabeth II’s 92nd birthday, and – in British Columbia – with the Vaisakhi parade in Surrey, one of the largest outside India (attended by over 350,000 people last year), honouring the birth of the Sikh faith. In the U.S., the funeral for former first lady Barbara Bush, with four former presidents in attendance.

This is also Spring Astronomy Day, which coincides with the Lyrid meteor shower, which is expected to put on a dazzling display in the evening (extending into the early morning of 2 Lamat), with as many as 20 meteors an hour streaking across the sky.

Two years since the death of Prince, two days after it was reported that no criminal charges have been laid with regard to his unexpected demise. Forty-one years since Elvis began his last concert tour.

2 Lamat (April 22nd) – a “dynamic heralding” (or leadership) type of energy, as was in place at the birth of Elvis Aaron Presley in 1935. At this time this energy, heralded in with the Lyrid meteor shower in the early morning, coincides with Earth Day, a special day that draws attention to environmental issues and calls on people to become personally involved in the stewardship of this precious planet, with this year’s theme being “End Plastic Pollution”. (Click here for an amazing approach to the use of discarded plastic bottles.) At this time Just World Educational is advocating involvement in a series of events “that will challenge the greatest destroyer of the earth: the war industry”. Along these lines social actions are now being undertaken to stop Trump’s plan for a massive military parade in November.

Currently this is also the day of the London Marathon and the Vancouver Sun Run, Canada’s largest 10-km race, and the third largest 10-km road race in the world.

3 Muluk (April 23rd) – the “activation of water”, often a powerful “shape-shifting” type of force, on what many have predicted as being the due date for Kate Middleton’s third child. This was the Maya energy in place at the time of the death of Princess Diana in 1997, and at the start of the Cuban missile crisis (in late October, 1962). Many other momentous events have also occurred under this influence, some of which are noted above. At this time this is UNESCO’s World Book and Copyright Day.

4 Ok (April 24th) – a “defining” Burner Day representative of fire (or heart-fire), an energy that can often stir the emotions as this is a “double-fire” type of force, coinciding at this time with the 28th anniversary of the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope and the 102nd anniversary of the Easter Rebellion in Ireland, which began the push for Irish Independence.

5 Chuwen (April 25th) a “precision” oriented energy in combination with play or even mischief; a “timeweaver” type of energy that can bring about change through innovation. On this day North Korea marks the 86th anniversary of the foundation of its Korean People’s Army. This is also ANZAC Day in remembrance of all Australians who served and died in war and on operational service. It is also legendary actor Al Pacino’s 78th birthday.

6 Eb’ (April 26th) – generally a “stabilizing” type of energy aligned with “restorative vitality” this energy is in place at the time of the scheduled release of the final batch of JFK documents (the ones held back when a large batch was released last October)

7 B’en (April 27th) – a “self generating personal authority” type of energy; the energy in place in April of 1865 when General Robert E. Lee surrendered the Confederate army to General Grant, precipitating the conclusion of the U.S. civil war. Currently this energy coincides with Arbor Day in the U.S. where the focus is placed on caring for trees, which has been observed since 1872 – a good day to plant a tree. Significantly, this is the day when the leaders of North and South Korea will meet for the first time since 2007. It is also King’s Day in the Netherlands, the Dutch national holiday with its huge celebrations throughout the region. and the final day of the 17th Session of the UN’s Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.

8 Ix (April 28th) “Resurrecting Jaguar” – this is Santo Mundo, a special Maya day devoted to the Celebration of the Earth and its sacred mysteries, coinciding with this year’s Independent Bookstore Day

9 Men (April 29th) – the “outward projection” of vision (as in the high-flying vision of the Eagle – which sometimes manifests as “warrior” energy). One cycle since the violent racist and counter-racist clashes in Charlottesville, VA last summer, at which time Trump’s approval rating hit a new low as he was slammed by a bipartisan backlash for failing to denounce the racism that provoked the violence. Twenty-nine cycles ago since the funeral for Princess Diana, in 1997.

10 Kib’ (April 30th) – a “foundational restoration” type of energy which can fluctuate between the setting up of important foundations (as in the setting up of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty in 1968) to the kind of massive “clean up” that was required in China in 2008 after the Szechuan earthquake. Currently this is the deadline date for B.C. to submit a legal argument against the Kinder Morgan pipeline. At this time this energy coincides with the Full Pink Moon, aka the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, at the time of the modern version of the Beltane Fire Festival in Edinburgh, marking the change in seasons. This is also Kate Middleton’s Maya Calendar birth energy.

11 Kab’an (May 1st) –the energy of “change” combined with the force of evolutionary
movement, coinciding with May Day and International Workers’ Day. This is also the second anniversary of the start of the Fort McMurray fire during which some 26,000 homes and businesses were destroyed, and the 300th anniversary of the founding of Mission San Antonio

12 Etz’nab (May 2nd) – a robust “knife-edge” type of force that can bring forth powerful separation (or “sacrifice-related”) events, as in the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln in 1865 and the naval quarantine of Cuba in 1962. At this time this energy coincides with Princess Charlotte’s 3rd birthday, yet another “royal celebration” during this trecena. By this time she will likely have another sibling.

13 Kawak (May 3rd) – “transformational storm”, a Maya calendar anniversary of the energy in place when Andrew Johnson took office as the U.S .president in 1865. (He was impeached 3 years later – the first to be impeached). At this time this energy coincides with UNESCO’s World Press Freedom Day, with its 2018 theme being “Keeping Power in Check: Media, Justice, and The Rule of Law”.
