Maya Count Of Days Horoscope

Maya Calendar Energies At Work In The World

It has been a wild and rocky transition from the end of the last trecena to the start of the Men trecena, with severe weather (including tornadoes) reported in many areas, the devastating 7.8 earthquake in Nepal, and the eruption of Chile’s Calbuco volcano, for the first time in 42 years. It seems that the powerful earth-oriented forces at the end of that energy frame were exerting considerable force this time through.

This is often a powerful period, as the Maya saw the namesake for this trecena (Eagle) as an avatar of the sun, representative of great strength, forcefulness, vision, and even supremacy. Emphasis is often placed on the “warrior” aspect of this energy as people are called upon to “dig in” and commit themselves to particular causes.

Certainly this could be seen yesterday (at the transition point) as millions of people worldwide (including some 130,000 people in Los Angeles) took to the streets to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of “the Armenian genocide”.

And as this Eagle-oriented trecena opens wreath-laying ceremonies are being held in a number of places, including London, to mark the centenary of the Allied attack on Gallipoli during World War I, at which time tens of thousands of troops were killed in what has been called World War I’s “most disastrous battle”.

As we have seen, in 2003 the beginning of this trecena brought the U.S. declaration of war against Iraq, at the same time as intense anti-war demonstrations were unfolding worldwide. In 2011 it brought forth major street riots in Tunisia that initiated the downfall of that country’s government, the first major denouncement of authoritarian rule and demand for democracy in the Arab world, a situation that instigated a wave of revolutionary events throughout that region.

Two cycles ago this trecena brought the beginning of anti-government protests in Ukraine when the government declined to sign association and free-trade agreements with the EU. This was also the energy that kicked off the Mexican War of Independence in 1810. So it is a time frame that often places emphasis on the idea of “standing up and fighting for a cause”.

But revolution is not the only theme for this trecena. High vision, as even sky-oriented events, frequently align with this time frame. And this time the first day of the trecena coincides with Astronomy Day, coming in the day after the 25th anniversary of the launch of the Hubble Space Craft which has brought us so many fabulous images of deep space and opened our eyes to the extraordinary wonders of the cosmos. On 8 Ik’ (aligned with Wind/Breath/Spirit), on May 2nd, we come to the New Fire anniversary of the 8 Ik’ 10 Wo day in 1963 when Gordon Cooper’s flight in Faith 7 brought NASA’s pioneering Mercury program to its conclusion. Cooper was the last person to go into space alone, completing 22 orbits by going farther, faster, and longer than anyone ever before him.

Evidence of personal battles during this time frame can be seen in the fact that the world, very sadly, lost the amazing Robin Williams during this trecena, the last time around. And this time we hear that Bruce Jenner (who was born on the first day of this trecena in 1949) has just publically announced that he is transitioning to a woman – a remarkable step for this individual who gained considerable fame for winning the Olympic decathalon in 1976, and being seen as “the world’s greatest athlete”.

And then there is Kate – the Duchess of Cambridge. The eyes of the world are now upon her as her second child is due as of the first day of this trecena, which is, intriguingly, the “combined” energy of William and Kate. With pressure mounting, quite literally, she will have to be a warrior indeed to endure all that this will entail. What are the chances that the birth of this baby will be on 5 Kawak (April 29th) as both Prince William and the baby’s grandmother (Princess Diana) were both born on Kawak days? This type of echoing of a parent’s birth energy is not uncommon. We shall see. Here are the energies that will come into play:

1 Men (April 25th) – the “initiation” of the Eagle’s lofty vision; a “posturing for supremacy” type of force, this time in conjunction with Astronomy Day and Anzac Day, on the 100th anniversary of the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli during World War I. Bruce Jenner’s Maya birthday.

2 Kib’ (April 26th) – a “dynamic” type of energy that can “shake things up” but is ultimately aligned with the transmutation force that can lead towards the restoration of order.

3 Kab’an (April 27th) – the “activation” of “movement” or “earth movement”; one cycle since the onslaught of Typhoon Halong last summer, with winds up to 180 km/hr., at the time it slammed into Japan

4 Etz’nab’ (April 28th) – a “defining” type of energy aligned with Etz’nab’s sparkling, “knife-edged” dazzle; this time in conjunction with the National Day of Mourning across Canada, in honour of those who have lost their lives in work-related incidents or occupational diseases; one cycle since the tragic death of Robin Williams

5 Kawak (April 29th) – the “blessing” of compassion; a precision kind of energy that can stir compassion or start a storm, clearing the path towards enlightenment; this time in conjunction with International Dance Day. New Fire anniversary of the 5 Kawak 7 Wo energy that was in place when the race riots in Birmingham, Alabama began in 1963. Maya birth energy of Malala Yousafzai, the extraordinary teenaged advocate of education for girls in Pakistan who survived a Taliban assassination attempt in 2012.

6 Ajaw (April 30th) – an “everywhere” type of energy associated with full sun/the power of enlightenment, as was in place 95 years ago when the 19th amendment was adopted in the U.S., giving women the right to vote. This day in 2015 marks the 40th anniversary of the fall of Saigon, at the conclusion of the Vietnam war.

7 Imix (May 1st) – “self-generating” birth, an energy often asssociated with the envisioning of a “new order of being”, this time in conjunction with May Day and International Workers’ Day, as well as the closing of the U.N.’s 14th Session of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues which has been in session since April 20th

8 Ik’ (May 2nd) – the “resurrection” of wind/breath/spirit; symbolic of the sun working together with the wind/breath/spirit aspect of Quetzalcóatl; three cycles since the March 2013 election of Pope Francis I, on the same day as the command of the International Space Station was handed over to Chris Hadfield, the high-flyer who was the first Canadian to walk in space. This also the New Fire anniversary of pioneering astronaut Gordon Cooper’s flight at the end of NASA’s Mercury program in 1963. Also Independent Bookstore Day.

9 Ak’b’al (May 3rd) – an “outwardly-projecting” type of force often aligned with the “temple” or “house”, and deep esoteric mysteries, this time in conjunction with the Full Moon, the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands during the Second World War, the 70th anniversary of the conclusion of the long running Battle of the Atlantic, and the unveiling of a statue to mark the 100th anniversary of Lt. Col. John McCrae’s penning of the famous war poem In Flanders Fields.

10 K’an (May 4th) – “foundational germination”, as in the coming into effect of the Emancipation Proclamation in the U.S in 1863; can be quite volatile, as in the generation of strong weather conditions or in the eruption of strong emotion-propelled action (as was in place at the beginning of the Egyptian and Syrian Revolutions in 2011)

11 Chikchan (May 5th) – inspirational Lifeforce, aligned with Liberation and Higher Consciousness; a Burner Day traditionally associated with “extinguishing the fire” – often signalling some kind of change in direction, as was the case precisely 4 Calendar Rounds ago (208 years) ago when Czar Alexander I met with Napoleon to work out a peaceful alliance between Russia and France. This time this energy coincides with Cinco de Mayo, the 70th anniversary of VE Day at the end of the Second World War, the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the coronation of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, and the Alberta elections.

12 Kimi (May 6th) – a “gathering together” type of energy associated with “absolute foundations”; a “regrouping type of energy” that could help to lay the foundations for some sort of new ideas or ventures

13 Manik’ (May 7th) – “transformational deer”, this time in conjunction with General Election Day in the UK, on the 70th anniversary of the signing of the unconditional documents of surrender of the German forces to the Allies in 1945. This also marks the 6-cycle anniversary of the day when small anti-government protests began to erupt in Syria in Jan. 2011. As Manik’ is a “carrier” of the sun and is sometimes associated with sacrifice, this can be a powerful force that can compel people to unify and forge ahead towards a common goal, as was the case when Mexico’s presidential election was won by Enrique Peña Nieto under this influence in 2012, and when the new Israeli government was sworn in under this influence in 2013.
